We have recently got complaints from our customers about virus warning notifications despite their phones have been scanned with Bkav Mobile Security. Examining the issue, we found out that the confusion is caused by dubious Google Ads on some free apps.
Clicking the ads, users will be directed to Google Play to install 360 Mobile Security, a China-based antivirus software.
Clearly, dubious messages in these ads make many users misunderstand that their mobiles are infected with viruses and need to be cleaned. More importantly, this seems to reveal the laxity in Google Ads censorship despite a lot of rigid policies for their partners.
Ads in free apps are very popular, so users should enhance awareness by carefully reading the messages to avoid being cheated.
